Impact of Coronary Stent Design in Proximal Balloon Edge Dilation Technique for Bifurcation Percutaneous Coronary Intervention

چکیده
The proximal optimizing technique (POT) -proximal balloon edge dilation (PBED) sequence for side branch (SB) dilatation with cross-over single-stent implantation decreases both strut obstruction at the SB ostium and stent deformation main (MB).

Percutaneous Coronary Intervention for Bifurcation Coronary Disease
Correspondence to: Dr Yves Louvard, Institut Cardiovasculaire Paris Sud, Institut Hospitalier Jacques Cartier, 6 avenue du Noyer Lambert, 91300 Massy, France; [email protected] _________________________ E ver since coronary angioplasty was first undertaken, treatment of coronary bifurcation lesions has posed technical problems. w2 Specific difficulties involving access to the side branch an...
متن کاملPercutaneous coronary intervention of bifurcation coronary disease.
Bifurcation coronary artery disease is a frequent problem faced by interventional cardiologists and it affects approximately 15-20% of patients undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). The application of drug-eluting stents (DES) technology to prevent restenosis after PCI represents one of the success stories in cardiology, but DES have not resolved the bifurcation PCI challenge. Bi...
متن کاملUse of RTM stent in the percutaneous coronary intervention of coronary bifurcation lesions
Percutaneous intervention of coronary bifurcation lesion represents a technical challenge to the interventional cardiologist. It has been associated with lower procedural success, higher complication and restenosis rates. A bifurcation lesion is dened as the presence of signicant (greater than 50%) stenosis involving a parent (main) vessel at the ostium of the side-branch with or without sigR...
متن کاملNew stent design for use in small coronary arteries during percutaneous coronary intervention
Patients with diabetes mellitus, of female gender, increased age, and/or with peripheral vascular disease often develop coronary stenoses in small caliber vessels. This review describes treatment of these lesions with the paclitaxel-eluting 2.25 mm TAXUS(®) Liberté(®) Atom™ stent. Given the same stent composition, polymer, antirestenotic drug (paclitaxel), and release kinetics as the first-gene...
